30+ Icebreaker Questions for Your Interview
Icebreaker questions are commonly used in an interview situation to allow candidates to relax and get into the flow of the conversation.
The answers will not be over-analysed. They will contribute to a sense of who the candidate is. Answer honestly, but don’t be too controversial. In particular, avoid any answers involving politics, religion, or taboo topics.
The casual nature of icebreaker questions means that your answers can be equally relaxed (and ideally brief). Leave extensive monologues for work-related questions.
Of course, there are a thousand-and-one variants on such questions, so here are a few to give you a sense of what might be coming. In one of those little interview signs, the more imaginative the question, the more engaged the interviewer may be with a candidate. Be flattered if you get a mind-bendingly tricky one.
How would you answer these icebreaker questions? It is always good to practice….
